The Prime Minister has convened an important meeting on the Chinese crisis today
An important meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad will decide on action against those found responsible. The meeting will be attended by federal ministers and other officials.
The meeting will also discuss the action taken so far on the FI report. Cases will be filed against those responsible in the light of the recommendations. Criminal cases against those found responsible will be forwarded to the NAB and FIA, with final approval by the Prime Minister.
On the other hand, the PML-N has rejected the report of the commission set up to probe the Chinese scandal as insufficient. PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that a 347-page report was written to divert attention from the real characters. Imran Khan, Usman Bazdar, Hafeez Sheikh and Asad Umar are the real culprits of the sugar scandal.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the price of sugar has been increasing since the day Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to export sugar 20 months ago. The price of sugar has risen by 20% since the commission's report on the sugar scandal came to light. The government is so innocent that it has remained silent after committing a robbery of Rs 200 billion.
It should be noted that in the inquiry report of the Federal Investigation Agency, PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen and others were held responsible. Jahangir Khan Tareen has gone to UK this week. He said that he has come to UK for his medical examination.
A six-member commission of inquiry headed by the DG FIA to probe the report has finalized the report of Monis, son of senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen and PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi. Elahi, Omni Group and Makhdoom Khosrow Bakhtiar's brother Omar Shehryar blamed the Chinese crisis.
The Sugar Inquiry Commission was formed on March 10 due to the Chinese crisis. The Sugar Commission was established under the Inquiry Act 2017. The commission also included DG Anti-Corruption Gohar Nafees, Deputy DG IB Ahmed Kamal, Executive Director SECP Bilal Rasool, Joint Director SBP Majid Hussain Chaudhry and DG FBR Intelligence Directorate Dr Bashirullah Khan. The Commission of Inquiry prepared the report in 63 days. During this time, 220 different people were questioned.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Saturday, Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid said that in the Chinese Sugar Inquiry Report, all the people will go to jail and no one will be spared.
