Significant decline in the value of the dollar against the rupee in the interbank and local open currency markets
KARACHI, Aug 28 (APP): The dollar depreciated sharply against the rupee in the interbank and local open currency markets on Friday.
According to a report by the Forex Association of Pakistan, the dollar depreciated by 85 paise against the rupee in the interbank market on Friday, taking the buying price of the dollar from Rs 167.20 to Rs 166.40 and the selling price from Rs 167.45 to Rs 166. Similarly, in the local open currency market, the dollar depreciated significantly by Rs 1, bringing down the buying price of the dollar from Rs 167.50 to Rs 166.50 and the selling price from Rs 168 to Rs 167.
According to the Forex report, the euro appreciated by 70 paise to Rs 197.50 from Rs 196.80 and Rs 199.50 from Rs 198.80. Similarly, the buying rate of British pound increased by 50 paise. The price increased from Rs 219.50 to Rs 220 and the selling price increased from Rs 221.50 to Rs 222.
